By the lighthouse, right where the waves caress the stones of the northern dock and the wind whispers secrets to the seagulls, this magical spot appeared in the heart of Ceuta: ‘Eternal Kiss.’
A place we decided to create for couples in love, both locals and visitors, with their souls intertwined, to come and immortalize their love. Under the gaze of Hercules, the bronze colossus, the scene is watched with eternal eyes. The air is filled with their sighs, and the stars, silent accomplices, observe from above. Their gaze, fixed on the horizon of the Strait of Gibraltar, seems to transcend the boundaries of time and space.
The idea was inspired by a poem on the wall, at the foot of the lighthouse, probably written by a heart burning like the sun at its zenith. It read: ‘She, forbidden like the moon in eclipse, a forbidden verse on my skin. I search for you in the dark corners, I find you in the verses that are not read.’ But their love was not just any love. No, it was a forbidden love, one that lived in dreams and verses, but not in reality. No, it was a forbidden love, one that lived in dreams and verses, but not in reality.
Lovers arrive at dusk, when the sky turns warm tones and shadows lengthen. They hold hands and approach the painting of the eternal kiss. Their lips meet, and time stands still. The lighthouse, a silent witness, casts its light upon them, as if trying to illuminate their love in the darkness.
And so, in this corner of the port, where the sea and land embrace, couples seal their love. The Eternal Kiss transcends words and becomes an endless poem.
May this place be a reminder that love knows no rules or time. May brave souls challenge conventions and dare to love without limits. And may the Eternal Kiss endure, like a lighthouse in the storm, guiding those who seek true love.
